The Look Show - Westfield Stratford City

What have Sarah Harding and Alesha Dixon got in common? The Look Show and Warehouse of course! 

On Saturday, we donned our must-have Warehouse looks and decended upon the brand new Westfield Stratford City for the amazing Look Show. (Before popping into John Lewis to pick up a few Warehouse pieces of course!) And this year proved to be the best yet!

The lights dimmed, the music started and Sarah Harding stormed down the catwalk in non other than Shivani Chavda for Warehouse! She definitely opned the show with a bang and the atmosphere was electric as we watched her strut he stuff down the catwalk. Watch the video >

London Fashion Week: Streets of Style

Here at Warehouse we've been scouring the streets to bring you the hottest looks from Somerset House, home of London Fashion Week. Take a look at the looks we loved and how you can recreate them at Warehouse.

THE SKIRT

Flowing floor length maxi skirts to calf skimming midi skirts were a definite must with the fashionistas this year, mixed with leather jackets, chunky knitted jumpers or basic separates such as jersey tees and sheer blouses to update the look for the colder season.

The BFC journey: The Launch!

The morning after the night before and we're still buzzing from the Shivani Chavda for Warehouse launch party!

You couldn't miss the hive of activity at our Argyll Street store from the innovative window display featuring the stunning photography from our photography winner Emily Smeaton to the Shivani Chavda printed 'red' carpet leading our customers into the 'In my wildest dreams...' collection.

With a glass of bubbly on entry, our DJ spinning tracks and bespoke Shivani Chavda nail art from Nail Rock, it was definitely a night not to be missed.

The BFC journey: Shoot day

The big day is finally here!

Emily: We arrived at the beautiful Barbican Conservatory at the Barbican Centre early to help pack the van and race over to unload and start setting up for the shoot. Once the model was ready - my first professional shoot began...

Thankfully by this point my nerves had been replaced by excitement and i couldn't wait to get going. The first look was shot without any problems and soon I was on to the second and then 3rd before lunch. The afternoon went almost as smoothly, there was a small accident with a piece of equipment being blown into a pond, but other than that everything ran to time and I was really enjoying myself!

I'd really like wednesday to happen all over again!

Shivani: Shortly after arriving I was introduced to the hair and make-up artists to brief them on my collection and show them images of how we envisioned the styling to look like. It didn’t take them long to get straight into it, and I watched as Jaz, our model, was transformed into the wild queen of the jungle I had imagined wearing my collection!

After each look was shot, I dressed Jaz in the next and we moved from one spot to another within the garden. It was really lovely seeing someone in my garments again after so long, and the surroundings couldn’t have been more perfect for the campaign.

SPOTTED: Shivani Chavda's debut collection and Emily Smeaton's gorgeous campaign photography in The Sunday Times Style...

Shivani: I turned the page and there was my collection, it was great to see it in the Sunday Times Style!

Emily: It was amazing to see my photography actually printed in a magazine!

The BFC journey: Shivani Chavda

It’s all go here at HQ since Emily, the photography winner started… From starting to plan ideas for a launch party in Warehouse Argyll Street to fitting samples and researching locations to shoot my collection! 

There’s so many things I envisioned for the launch party, and after having brainstorm with the marketing team to discuss ideas, they all seem to be do-able which is awesome.

Later on in the week we fitted the samples to the models making note of changes that needed to be made. Seeing the samples on the model started making it all feel real again, I can’t wait for it to be in store!

I also had a meeting with the Visual Merchandising manager Belinda Carver, about how I envisioned the store windows to look. It was far too much fun to be called work planning my shop window, and I’m incredibly excited to start making it a reality...

The BFC journey: Emily Smeaton

My first few weeks with Warehouse have all been a bit of a fast-paced blur!

Shivani and I have been busy researching and preparing for the shoot, from ordering equipment looking at the latest hair and make up trends, there’s so much to do in a short amount of time! The main task this week was to hunt down possible locations for the shoot, one of which was the gorge Kew Gardens and the other was an amazing Barbican Conservatory at the Barbican Centre. Both were great but the latter had the edge and I fell in love with the colourful setting. Now we just have to wait to see what the images will look like!

I’ve been working with the in-house photographer to learn more about lighting and composition which has been a great and had the amazing news that I would also be shooting the jewellery lookbook which will be in stores in September! It went really well and was definitely eye-opening - I hadn’t realised quite how much precision goes into each photograph. It’s been good preparation for the main campaign shoot and I’m looking forward to the big day now!
