In the words of the late great Michael Jackson... It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking in the dark. Well not too evil, but American super group, The Dead Weather, playing at Brixton academy last night, certainly brought some gothic fabulousness and Halloween spirit to south London.
Comprising the frighteningly talented posse of Alison Mosshart (The Kills), Jack White (The White Stripes and The Raconteurs), Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age) and Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs and The Greenhornes), the group remind us of the super-cool kids in school who everyone wanted to hang out with. They certainly were on form last night with a blistering set which had the crowd in raptures and screaming for more.
For those of you who missed out last night, rumour has it The Dead Weather will be performing a free Halloween special gig at Shoreditch Church on Saturday 31st October at 8pm. If last night is anything to go by, you'd be mad to miss it - the perfect way to spend Halloween and a reason to break out your Alison Mosshart inspired best!
We have never loved a singer more than the quite frankly amazing Miss Alison Mosshart. Not only does she have bags of charisma and stage presence, she is also a style goddess! However the boys didn't look too shabby either - Jack White was working a head to toe black tee and jean look, whilst the gorgeous Dean Fertita was looking super hot (as usual) in his staple striped tee and leather jacket.
Let loose your inner rock goddess with lashings of black leather, studding, black jeggings and oversized printed tees. Add a dollop of devil may care attitude and throw in a love of hell-raising and you're good to go.
