Warehouse PR & Marketing Director, Lorraine Pringle, gives us the buzz on The British Academy Television Awards...
The Warehouse Style suite, The Mandarin Oriental
As
Official Promotional Partner to the British Academy Television Awards,
Warehouse was honoured with a gorgeous suite at the Mandarin Oriental hotel
last Sunday 26th April, where TV’s glitterati could take their pick
from the cream of the Warehouse Spotlight collection while sipping Taittinger
and eating BAFTA fairy cakes. Scrum! A mere hop, skip and a jump away, MAC were
on hand for the ultimate in red carpet makeovers, QVC for dazzling jewellery
and the hair maestros at Mark Hill ensured everyone was coiffed to perfection. Getting
ready for a red carpet do is HARD work.
Once all the preening and accessorising was over, it was onto the Red Carpet where the sun managed to shine just long enough to see everyone safely inside. And yes, the Warehouse gang did get to walk that very, very, long stretch of crimson, but strangely none of the flash bulbs popped for us. Go figure?!

Fresh-faced and lovely: Skins stars Kaya Scodelario and Hannah Murray (Rex)
Classic appeal: Eastenders' Barbara Windsor and June Brown (BAFTA)
The night
was a mix of oh-so-now TV starlets (mainly the jaw-droppingly gorgeous cast of
Skins) and small screen legends such as Barbara Windsor and June
Brown (aka Eastenders’ Peggy and Dot). People-watching doesn’t come much
better.
Tess Daly (BAFTA) and Alexa Chung (BAFTA)
The hands
down, best look of the night award has to go to Tess Daly. Despite being
heavily pregnant, she managed to look sexy and
elegant. Also worth a mention for
impressive style were the usual suspects, Alexa Chung and emerging
stylista, the actress and model, Jaime Winstone.
And the fashion critique doesn’t stop there. There were lessons aplenty on how to/how not to work the Maxi dress with Mischa Barton getting a big thumbs up for her flowing, fully covered navy version with its statement gold encrusted neckline and the lovely Jenni Falconer (fresh from running the marathon would you believe) who completed hers with an oversize Warehouse clutch bag. You go girl!

Finally
settled in our box with its bird’s eye view of the awards, the fun continued as
together with our guests from The London Paper, Look and Glamour magazines, we
played a game of spot the celebrity. Sadly the novelty wore off after about
5mins when we realised that was pretty much everyone.
What’s left
to tell? Well, after all the gongs had gone to their rightful owners we moved
downstairs to feast and then to boogie the night away to the sounds
of Wham and Lionel Ritchie. The perfect end to any night.
